Justice’s rise in the late 2000s was inseparable from Parisian cool and from Pedro “Busy P” Winter, the Ed Banger founder who shepherded the duo’s career. In 2008, Justice partnered with cult Paris label Surface to Air to create a capsule collection that captured the group’s sharp, monochrome aesthetic. The collaboration comprised leather and denim jackets, produced in extremely limited quantities -- as few as 50 per design --and stocked only at select boutiques such as Colette, Le Bon Marché, Barneys New York, and Isetan Tokyo.
This example is the “Xavier” jacket, a black leather piece with ribbed knit collar, cuffs, and hem, snap-front closure, and multiple zip and flap pockets named for Xavier de Rosnay. Its cut reflects Surface to Air’s signature mix of motorcycle-jacket toughness with Parisian minimalism, a silhouette that became synonymous with Justice’s stage and street style during the Cross era.
What makes this jacket exceptional is its provenance: it comes directly from the collection of Pedro Winter, whose Ed Banger label released Justice’s debut album and shaped the aesthetic language of 2000s French electro. Offered from Pedro’s personal archive, this jacket is more than a fashion artifact, it is a tangible link to the Parisian music scene that defined an era.
Net proceeds from the sales of Pedro's collection benefit Secours Populaire Français.
