Product Note
Things that happened in 2008; Barack Obama became the first black president in United States history. Pharrell Williams became collaborates with Louis Vuitton (the beginning of something amazing), one of Takashi Murakami’s My Lonesome Cowboy sculptures was sold at an auction by Sotheby's for a record-obliterating $15.1 million, and Lewis Hamilton became the first Black driver to win a Formula 1 championship. While the story of this helmet falls short of an Obama connection, it does represent an important intersection in culture, art, and history with—once again—many cultural threads leading back to Pharrell. For the Suzuka round of the 2022 F1 season, Lewis Hamilton donned a spectacular Takashi Murakami-designed helmet. This is a replica of that helmet (Lewis and Takashi have kept the two originals for their archival purposes) produced in a 100% likeness.
