Born in London in 1994, Michaela Yearwood-Dan is a British artist whose vibrant and immersive works span large-scale paintings, works on paper, ceramics, sculpture, and site-specific installations. Her practice explores Blackness, queerness, femininity, healing ritual and carnival culture with a focus on creating unbounded possibilities for identity. Yearwood-Dan’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati and Palazzo Monti in Brescia, and is held in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Dallas Museum of Art.
