Customized "I Love You" Valentine's Day Explorer Watch

When George Bamford received a Rolex for his 18th birthday, he quickly noticed that many guests at the celebration were wearing the exact same model. That moment of realization sparked his desire for individuality—leading him to apply a custom DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating to his watch, transforming it into a striking blacked-out timepiece.

This personal experiment soon evolved into what became Bamford Watch Department. The company quickly gained recognition for its high-end modifications of luxury watches and, in 2017, entered a landmark partnership with LVMH. Today, Bamford is officially acknowledged as an approved customizer for several of the group’s watch brands.

The Rolex reference 214270 featured here has been customized by Bamford Watch Department with a distinctive “I Love You” Valentine’s Day theme. We estimate its production to be circa 2015.

The watch features a 39mm case finished in Bamford’s signature black DLC coating. Its hands and dial have been reimagined with blackened luminous material, custom paint, and playful pink accents—creating a unique blend of subtlety and sentiment.
