Air Jordan 5 Retro 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' Friends & Family

Created as a tribute to Will Smith in celebration of his 50th birthday, these Gold Air Jordan 5s were released in an ultra-limited run of just 23 pairs, honoring the traditional milestone color—gold. Will Smith’s connection to Nike and Jordan Brand is deeply rooted in pop culture as he famously wore Air Jordans throughout The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, including Air Jordan 5s in the show’s opening credits. While Nike later released a Fresh Prince inspired AJ5, none rival the rarity or impact of this gold edition.

The pair features a metallic gold upper with purple and teal accents on the tongue and midsole—an homage to the original 1990 “Grape” Air Jordan 5. Black laces and clear lace locks complete the design. The Air Jordan 5 was the first model to introduce lace locks and icy outsoles, and was designed by Tinker Hatfield, drawing inspiration from World War II fighter jets, evident in the signature shark-tooth midsole detailing.

Michael Jordan famously wore the Air Jordan 5 when he scored his career-high 69 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers, further cementing the silhouette’s legendary status.
