One of Kid Cudi's favorite activities is vintage shopping. Over the course of Kid Cudi's career as a globally acclaimed musician, he has used his extensive travels to explore local vintage stores around the world, often finding buried treasures, curating an exceptional collection of rare and one-of-a-kind vintage pieces, each with its own story and character. Many of the pieces, including this lot, pay tribute to artists who have inspired Kid Cudi and influenced his journey as a musician.
This vintage circa 1983 Fruit of the Loom black T-shirt, purchased from the famed Metropolis Vintage in New York City, features artwork from the 1983 album We're the Meatmen... And You Suck! by notorious hardcore punk band The Meatmen, led by frontman Tesco Vee. Known for their offensive, satirical, and over-the-top lyrics, The Meatmen embodied the raw, politically incorrect energy of the early '80s punk scene. Their debut album, from which this design is inspired, was a defining release in hardcore punk, blending aggressive riffs with humor and shock value. This shirt is a relic of that bold, crude and unapologetic era as much as it is of the band itself.
