Black and Grey CC Logo Rubber Basketball

A regulation-scale rubber basketball from Chanel's Sports Line — the extended-lifestyle branch Karl Lagerfeld built out of the house in the early 2000s as a way to push CC iconography into objects that had no business carrying it. The Sports Line ran across a genuinely surreal catalog of the decade — tennis rackets, snowboards, skateboards, surfboards, boomerangs, dumbbells, kayak paddles, and boules sets — each finished in Chanel materials and stamped with the interlocking CC logo, and each priced at a level that ensured they lived on shelves rather than on courts. The basketball is the most photographed of the run: a genuinely functional pebble-grain rubber ball in black and grey, with a debossed CC logo across one face, produced in a limited quantity for Chanel boutique distribution only.
