Vash the Stampede caught mid-draw, red duster thrown open behind him, revolver raised in his left hand toward the viewer — one of the signature kinetic poses Madhouse’s animation team built the entire 26-episode run of Trigun around, the shape the character makes when he’s about to prove he can shoot the gun out of your hand without actually killing you. This sheet is where the pose originates: the lead animator’s rough line work, with colored-pencil shadow notes running through the figure in blue and orange, framed inside the red registration guide that would have fed the drawing into the ink-and-paint pipeline. The paper itself documents the handoff point in the pre-digital production workflow — the specific moment the frame stops being drawing and starts becoming painting.
