Mobile Suit Victory Gundam Original Production Cel – Odelo Henrik (1993–94)

Victory Gundam is the Universal Century at its most devastating. Yoshiyuki Tomino’s reportedly difficult 1993–94 production took the broader Gundam framework into the darkest tonal register the franchise ever committed to on television — a resistance war fought largely by child soldiers, with casualty counts the previous series had carefully avoided and a protagonist barely into his teens. Odelo Henrik is Uso Ewin’s best friend and fellow child pilot in the League Militaire resistance. Hiroshi Osaka’s character designs — rounder, softer, more vulnerable than the sharp geometry of earlier Gundam entries — are a direct part of the series’ emotional architecture, and this cel set sits at the exact intersection of the design language and the narrative weight it was built to carry.
