Dragon Ball Z Original Production Cel – King Cold (1991)

Twelve minutes. That’s roughly the total screen time King Cold logs across the entire Dragon Ball Z television run — three episodes (118–120, aired November to December 1991) and a swift death at the hands of a sword-wielding stranger from the future named Trunks. The Galactic Frieza Army’s patriarch arrives on Earth with his newly rebuilt cybernetic son seeking revenge on Goku, delivers approximately one monologue, and is dispatched in a single cut. This two-cel set captures him in the specific pose the series settled on as his visual signature: arms crossed inside his gleaming white-and-purple Frieza-clan armor, horns curved up from his forehead-plate, the heavy black-and-purple cape falling behind him like a throne room curtain, full regal bearing suspended against the acetate. Villain cels from the Trunks Saga are already a scarce category inside the Dragon Ball archival market, and King Cold’s compressed appearance makes any painted frame of him materially harder to source than the Frieza or Cell material from the same window.
