Black Jack is Osamu Tezuka's dark counterweight to Astro Boy — an unlicensed master surgeon with a facial scar and two-tone hair who takes impossible medical cases for astronomical fees, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion from 1973 through 1983 as one of Tezuka's most sustained manga achievements. The character's moral ambiguity, his gothic-fairytale case files, and his adopted assistant Pinoko (a sentient teratoma that insists she is his wife) make Black Jack arguably the strangest mainstream property Tezuka ever built, and the one with the longest adult-reader shelf life. This heather-blue cotton tee carries the stylized "Bj" monogram in the character's signature chiaroscuro black-and-white colorway, printed to the Tezuka Productions licensing vocabulary with the official hangtag still attached.
