2000’s Detroit Metal City Krauser II Trucker Cap

Kiminori Wakasugi's Detroit Metal City ran in Young Animal from 2005 through 2010 as the dead-black comedy about Soichi Negishi — a soft-spoken, polo-shirt-wearing, Swedish-pop-loving young man forced into double life as Johannes Krauser II, lead vocalist of the fictional death-metal band Detroit Metal City whose entire act consists of profanity, corpse paint, and sexual threats to the city of Tokyo. The property anchored a 2008 anime adaptation and a 2008 live-action film starring Kenichi Matsuyama. This black-and-white trucker cap carries the Krauser II / Detroit Metal City graphic on the white front panel in heavy death-metal brush typography with mesh back panels and black foam brim — the cap format reading directly to the show's deliberately uncool corner-store-rock aesthetic.
