Michael Lau collaborated with London-based utility apparel label Maharishi on this "MISS London" M002 figure, dressing his character in the brand's signature military-and-camouflage-adjacent wardrobe vocabulary. The figure appears mid-crawl in an orange-and-yellow Maharishi outfit, packaged in the maker's identifiable pink and yellow patterned box alongside additional accessory inserts. Lau's collaborations with fashion and streetwear brands — Maharishi, A Bathing Ape, Nike, and others — sit at the top of the art-toy collector market for the early-2000s window, and the Maharishi-branded editions specifically have become one of the harder crossover pieces to source in complete condition.
Accompanied by original box, hands, card, baseball cap and shoes.
Michael Lau Kin-man (b. 1970, Hong Kong) is internationally recognized as the "Godfather of Designer Toys" and the founder of the urban vinyl style within the art-toy movement. After graduating from Hong Kong's First Institute of Art and Design in 1992, Lau merged action-figure sculpture with street culture, launching the "Gardener" series in 1999. His work has been exhibited from Tokyo and Taipei to London, Paris and Christie's Hong Kong/Shanghai, and he has collaborated with Nike, Casio, Puma, Carhartt and Maharishi, cementing his influence on hip-hop, skate and toy culture worldwide.
