White Crocodile XX Gotham Clutch

This limited edition Gotham clutch from Nancy Gonzalez's 2016 collaboration with KAWS is executed in glossy white crocodile with the artist's XX eyes rendered as contrasting black leather cutout appliqués applied across both front panels, the double-X reading as both signature and object-mark on the exotic skin. This clutch was released in a capsule that debuted at Colette in Paris shortly before the legendary concept store's closure, and that has since become one of the most collected artist-house handbag projects of the past decade. Gonzalez, the Colombian designer whose hand-crafted single-hide crocodile bags have anchored American exotic-skin luxury since the early 2000s, invited KAWS to reimagine three of her signature silhouettes (the Gotham clutch, the Gio crossbody, and the Leaf tote) in runs of just 15 using his double-X motif as the graphic thread across the run.
