Six consecutive days of recording at Robert Lang Studios north of Seattle in October 1994 produced the entire first Foo Fighters album — Dave Grohl playing every instrument himself except one guitar part, six months after Kurt Cobain’s death, assembling what would be released on Capitol/Roswell in July 1995 as a self-titled one-man demo tape that then had to become an actual touring band. The lineup Grohl assembled around the record (Nate Mendel on bass, William Goldsmith on drums, Pat Smear on guitar) carried the Foo Fighters through continuous touring across The Colour and the Shape (1997) and There Is Nothing Left to Lose (1999) before the band’s commercial trajectory settled into arena-scale territory. This black cotton tee comes from that specific mid-to-late-1990s window: the chest prints a wide-eyed grinning demon-head illustration in orange and yellow against the solid black ground, with “FOO FIGHTERS” set in brush-stroked yellow-and-pink block type arched across the top.
