Asymmetric Wool Blazer

The day Paul Tazewell walked into Liberty London with two of Wicked's hero costumes — Glinda's pink Bubble Dress and Elphaba's Emerald City gown — to launch the store's Christmas-into-Oz collaboration with the film, he wore red.

Ahead of the movie's release in November of 2024, Liberty had transformed its London store into the land of Oz for the holiday window, and Tazewell was the press appearance that anchored the launch. An Alexander McQueen wool suit in a deep cherry red, cut to Seán McGirr's recent house silhouette: a double-breasted jacket with sculpted peaked shoulders, sharp lapels, and a clean closure, paired with matching straight-leg trousers. Worn over a black turtleneck. On the lapel, a large red fabric flower — sculpted petals around a dark velvet center — answering the Oz visual vocabulary inside the room, and quietly carrying the suggestion of the poppy field through which Dorothy first reaches the Emerald City.
