This rare tote hails from the second collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design, released in 2017 under the creative direction of Kim Jones. Bridging Parisian luxury and Tokyo streetwear, the capsule marked a pivotal moment in fashion when heritage embraced disruption.
Crafted in Louis Vuitton’s tonal Monogram Eclipse canvas, the tote features Fragment’s stark white branding:
“LOUIS VUITTON
PARIS
FRAGMENT
TOKYO”, a quiet provocation that encapsulates the cross-cultural dialogue central to the collection. The silhouette is unstructured and utilitarian, finished with black leather handles and a drawstring top closure, offering both function and style.
Never reissued and released in limited quantities, this piece remains a defining artifact of the high-fashion x streetwear era, a moment when Louis Vuitton opened its doors to the vanguard of Japanese design. This example comes from the personal collection of Sarah Andelman, the visionary founder of colette, who has long championed Fujiwara as the “king of collaborations”.
100% of the proceeds will benefit UNICEF, supporting life-saving programs and the protection of children’s rights worldwide.
