This bag is from the cult-beloved label OriginalFake - a brand launched by artist KAWS in 2006 in collaboration with Japan’s MEDICOM TOY. Operating until 2013, OriginalFake blurred the line between fine art and fashion, bringing KAWS's iconic visual language, “XX” eyes, cartoon figures, and subverted pop imagery, into a wearable, collectible format. Produced in partnership with PORTER, Japan’s revered heritage bagmaker, this set fuses technical precision with KAWS’s irreverent art. The bag features subtle yet unmistakable design codes that defined OriginalFake’s early era.

Even more notably, this bag comes from the personal archive of Sarah Andelman, the visionary founder of colette. Andelman played a key role in introducing OriginalFake to Europe, transforming colette into a global hub for the streetwear–art movement. This particular bag was released exclusively in Paris: a product of a moment that helped reshape fashion retail for the modern collector and a great memory for Sarah.
