TYRRELL WINSTON (B. 1985), 2021
Moving Landscape
basketball net casted in chrome
13 3/4 x 14 x 19 inches (34.9 x 35.6 x 48.3 cm)
Executed in 2021. This work is unnumbered from an edition of 20. Produced by Louis Buhl & Co., Detroit.

NOTES:
Moving Landscape transforms a basketball hoop net collected from Detroit’s streets into an elegant chrome steel arc, frozen at its apex as if caught mid-swish. The piece melds urban grit with sculptural poetics: the worn material emerges as sleek, meditative form. This is characteristic of Winston’s nuanced tension between function and abstracted memory.
