This limited edition Pochette Métis from Louis Vuitton's April 2017 "Masters" collaboration with Jeff Koons — the collection in which Koons reproduced canvases by five old masters (Leonardo, van Gogh, Rubens, Fragonard, and JMW Turner) directly onto LV leather goods. This Métis carries Turner's Ancient Rome; Agrippina Landing with the Ashes of Germanicus (1839) rendered across the flap in high-resolution print, with Koons's own name applied to the exterior as if signing the bag as artist rather than as painter of the reproduction. The Masters collection was one of the most heavily debated art-fashion crossovers of the 2010s and one of the most instantly collected.
