Product Note
Pharrell Williams and Daniel Arsham were destined to cross paths. They share a profound curiosity for creating and a common vision that spans aesthetics both visual and aural. First introduced through a mutual colleague, gallerist Emmanuel Perrotin, a collaboration between the two provocateurs was inevitable. When Pharrell visited Arsham’s studio in 2012, he revealed to Arsham the importance of the Casio MT-500 keyboard and how it was the first tool he used to explore music production. In 2013, Arsham replicated the MT-500 in his signature monochromatic, archeological, volcanic ash/crystal, future relic style. Originally cast in an edition of 3, Arsham revisited the sculpture in 2023 for this perfectly patinaed bronze edition, commissioned exclusively for the Just Phriends auction.
