Gold Bangle with Emerald

An 18-karat yellow gold bangle centered by a single cushion-cut Columbian emerald (3.97 carats) bezel-set into a hand-forged gold ring with no additional ornament. The green of the stone reads deep and saturated against the warm yellow of the metal, the bezel narrow enough that the emerald sits almost flush against the skin. Stamped 18K with the LS maker's mark; 24.4 grams of gold in total. Schwartz has built her New York atelier around exactly this kind of piece — a single serious stone, a minimum of metalwork, and a bezel doing the work of a full setting.
