Gold Bangle with Sapphire

An 18-karat yellow gold bangle centered by a single cushion-cut blue Sri Lanken sapphire (4.53 carats) bezel-set into an otherwise unadorned, hand-forged gold ring. The construction is deliberately spare: just the stone, mounted low, meeting the wrist directly. Stamped 18K with the LS maker's mark; 25.2 grams of gold in total. Schwartz operates out of New York's Diamond District as a fourth-generation jeweler working almost entirely by private commission, known for the caliber of the colored stones her atelier sources and for reducing settings until the gemstone is the only thing left to look at.
