1980 Inside My Brain Vinyl Record

The six-song debut EP from LA's most notoriously abrasive punk band, in its original 1980 Bad Trip pressing. The front cover is the iconic Lisa Adams design — a screened image of a bloodied figure floating in a pale rectangle, the band's hand-drawn logo across the top and INSIDE MY BRAIN set into a torn label tag at lower right. The back cover lays out the track sequence in red over a collaged band photograph shot in what looks like a basement boiler room, with the lyrics to "Inside My Brain" printed alongside ("I see black Christmas trees / barbed wire / funeral homes / I see your face / forest fires / rats in the street gnawing at my bones") and the production credits at the foot: engineered by Spot at Media Arts Studios in Redondo Beach, mixed by Karl Derfler at Xandu in Daly City. The instruction Send hate mail to: 11020 Ventura Blvd, Suite 218, Studio City CA 91604 is intact.

The sleeve carries the wear an original should — edge softening, a torn tab at the lower right corner exposing the Kodak film border underneath, surface scuffs across the navy field — the kind of handling history that confirms a record actually lived through the era. Reissued many times since; the 1980 first run is the one that holds the cultural weight.
