In 2002, Takashi Murakami’s colorful rendition of the classic Louis Vuitton monogram jettisoned the brand into the new millennium. Tapped by then Creative Director, Marc Jacobs, Takashi Murakami literally and figuratively cast color onto the traditionally monochromatic monogram. It was arguably the first step in a bold new direction for Louis Vuitton, that would eventually lead to partnerships with Pharrell, Virgil, and of course, NIGO. These 4 Alzer trunks in the original Takashi Murakami Multicolore Monogram pattern are from NIGO’s personal (extensive) collection of Louis Vuitton trunks. Two are signed by Takashi Murakami.
