Proleta Re Art is the personal project of a Japanese artisan whose hand-stitched, hand-mended boro denim has, over the past several years, become one of the most-quoted reference points in contemporary Japanese craft apparel — sashiko stitching and boro patchwork practice routed over a vintage Levi's foundation. This pair is a collaboration piece from the maker's earlier and more highly regarded production period, produced through one of his first international-collaborator partnerships in the years before Proleta Re Art moved into wider distribution. Hand-pieced patchwork across the body, the recurring uroboros motif anchoring the visual program, the base built on genuine vintage denim.
