A departure from Cedric Mitchell’s typical high-gloss palette, Plonko explores surface, balance, and restraint through a fully sandblasted finish. Soft geometric volumes intersect at subtle angles, creating a sense of motion held in suspension — playful yet architectural.

The matte surface diffuses light and color, allowing form to take precedence over shine, marking a quieter, more experimental direction within Mitchell’s Modern Funk vocabulary. Produced as a singular work, the piece sits between functional object and sculptural study, embracing asymmetry, tactility, and the beauty of process.

Each piece is individually hand-blown in Los Angeles, resulting in subtle variations that highlight the artist’s process and the material’s fluid nature.
