Primary Portal I functions as both furniture and architectural object. Composed of bold geometric framing elements surrounding a mirrored center, the piece evokes the idea of a passage or threshold—an opening between physical space and reflected environment.

Finished in saturated lacquer, the structure highlights Cedric Mitchell’s signature Modern Funk vocabulary, where color, symmetry, and playful form converge. The mirrored surface activates the work by reflecting its surroundings, allowing the object to continuously change with light, movement, and perspective.
