Fictional Nonfiction: Archaeology by Daniel Arsham is a limited-edition sculpture that turns the idea of a book into a future relic — as if a text from our era were unearthed centuries from now. Cast in plaster with crushed glass fragments and part of a numbered edition of 500, this work embodies Arsham’s signature “fictional archaeology” aesthetic, where contemporary forms appear eroded and re-imagined as artifacts shaped by time. Packaged in its original Arsham Studio housing and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, this piece blurs the boundaries between object, narrative, and history.
