Freehand Profit's Lanvin Curb Mask & Glove elevates Parisian luxury streetwear into a dramatic sculptural statement as the 221st sneaker mask in his ongoing sneaker mask work. Hand-assembled from Lanvin Curb uppers and exclusive scraps from the brand's collaboration with The Shoe Surgeon, the mask sits over the full face and takes the Curb's mesh, leather, and rubber panels as raw material. The glove is built from the same source pair, the Curb's quilted upper reworked into a full-hand covering with a laced wrist closure and a trailing silver feather charm suspended from the cuff. Both pieces draw directly on the visual language of classic falconry garb: the hooded raptor mask that a falconer places over the bird to keep it calm before flight, paired with the gauntlet the handler wears to receive the bird on the arm.

Gary Lockwood, known as Freehand Profit, is a Virginia-based artist whose practice transforms iconic sneakers into one-of-one sculptural masks. Since 2010, he has produced more than 200 unique works, each examining the intersection of identity, consumer culture, and contemporary symbolism through the language of footwear. By recontextualizing familiar materials into meticulously constructed objects, Freehand Profit elevates the everyday into something collectible—where craft, concept, and cultural reference converge.
