NOTES:

Published by the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, in 2019, this limited edition catalogue was produced on the occasion of KAWS’ landmark exhibition Companionship in the Age of Loneliness. Each example was issued with a signed and numbered screenprint on Arches Aquarelle, contained within a Wibalin Buckram-bound box and accompanied by the fully illustrated exhibition catalogue. The catalogue accompanied KAWS’ first major Australian survey, which brought together paintings, large-scale sculpture, toys, and installations spanning his career. The exhibition foregrounded KAWS’ central themes of empathy, companionship, and the complexities of human connection through his instantly recognizable cast of characters.
