Rimowa produced this Classic Cabin as part of its phygital collaboration with RTFKT — the digital collectibles studio Nike acquired in December 2021, best known for building drops that pair a physical product with a linked digital asset. The collaboration was announced in 2022 and the physical suitcases were claimed and distributed in 2023 to holders of the accompanying digital token, of which only 888 were produced. The suitcase sits on Rimowa's Classic Cabin platform, executed in polished anodized aluminum with riveted corner reinforcements and the ribbed panel language that has defined the maison's construction since 1950, and it carries RTFKT's own detailing across the exterior. The release stands as one of the earlier phygital luggage drops from a heritage house, positioning the Classic Cabin at the intersection of Rimowa's German engineering tradition and RTFKT's Web3-forward practice.
