Fifteen years of silence separated Bauhaus’s July 5, 1983 breakup at the Hammersmith Palais in London from the band’s 1998 Resurrection Tour reunion — a specific stretch during which Peter Murphy moved into his solo career, Daniel Ash and David J and Kevin Haskins into Love and Rockets, and an entire generation of post-punk-and-goth fans came of age with no live access to the lineup that had effectively invented their genre. The Resurrection Tour set the template for the goth-and-post-punk reunion-tour format of the following two decades of adjacent band comebacks. This black cotton tee comes from that tour’s local-crew merchandise program — produced only for the road-and-venue production team rather than for retail sale, running directly against the louder audience-facing tour-apparel on the merch table. The small white right-chest print carries the Bauhaus geometric symbol — a circle intersected by a horizontal rectangle — above three lines of type reading “bauhaus / resurrection tour ‘98 / local crew.”
