90s Gang Starr White T-shirt

Gang Starr formed in Brooklyn in 1986 as the Guru-and-DJ-Premier duo that would come to define the East Coast conscious-rap vocabulary across the following two decades — Premier's sampled jazz-and-funk production under Guru's monotone, didactic delivery — with Step in the Arena (1991), Daily Operation (1992), Hard to Earn (1994), and Moment of Truth (1998) running continuously across the group's active-studio catalog. Guru died of cancer in April 2010 at 48, effectively closing the project as a living catalog, and surviving period Gang Starr merchandise has since traded at the top of the vintage conscious-rap tee market.
