90s Primus “Pork Soda” Black T-shirt

Les Claypool opens Pork Soda with ninety seconds of strings and his own narration — the Primus frontman reading a mock-infomercial for a fictional porcine beverage — before the record pivots into bass-slap funk-metal for the following forty-six minutes. The gag drives the whole album’s visual program: the bug-eyed pig-and-cow puppet staring out of the chest of this black cotton tee is the record’s cover-art mascot, with the eroded PRIMUS logo arched above and “Pork Soda” scrawled in gold cursive beneath. The back prints the title track’s chorus verse (“GRAB YOURSELF A CAN OF PORK SODA / AND YOU’LL BE FEELIN’ JUST FINE / AIN’T NOTHIN’ QUITE LIKE SITTIN’ ROUND THE HOUSE / SWILLIN’ DOWN THEM CANS OF SWINE.”) in matching gold brush-script against a splatter field.
