Originally dreamed up in Back to the Future Part II (1989) and brought to life decades later, the Nike MAG is one of the most iconic and futuristic sneakers ever created. This 2016 release marks the first and only edition with functional power-lacing technology, staying true to the movie’s vision and advancing Nike’s self-lacing innovations.

Produced in an extremely limited run of just 89 pairs worldwide, the 2016 Nike MAGs were not sold commercially—they were auctioned exclusively to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, making each pair a rare collector’s item with cultural and philanthropic significance.

The design features a light grey mesh upper, LED-lit panels on the midsole and heel, and the instantly recognizable high-cut silhouette with blue-speckled midsoles. The built-in self-lacing mechanism activates with the press of a button, charging via the included magnetic adapter. Every detail, from the glowing Nike branding to the futuristic shape, is a faithful tribute to Marty McFly’s legendary sneakers.
