Purple Velvet Tuxedo

The 2025 BAFTAs were the night Paul Tazewell stepped onto a global film-awards stage and was handed one of the British Academy's iconic gold masks for his work on Wicked. He took the carpet at the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 16, 2025, wore this Viggo purple velvet tuxedo jacket to do it, and walked off as the BAFTA winner for Best Costume Design. Cut from saturated purple cotton velvet and finished with a black shawl lapel in contrast facing — the kind of considered color-block detail befitting a world-class costume designer. Offered here with the matching velvet trousers, in the same purple cotton as the jacket. Paired on the night with his Ozwald Boateng purple silk shirt for a deliberate tonal layering, two shades of purple anchored by the black lapels.
