The Michael Lau x NIKE SB Dunk Low 'Gardener Wood' was released in 2006 as part of a landmark collaboration between Nike SB and Hong Kong artist Michael Lau, whose Gardener universe played a defining role in the rise of designer toy culture and its crossover with streetwear and skateboarding. Conceived in connection with Lau’s Gardener series, the pair is widely reported to have been issued in an edition of 106 pairs at 1:06 AM local time, placing it among the rarest artist-designed Nike SB releases of the period.

The design translates Lau’s visual language into one of the most distinctive Dunk interpretations of the era. Rendered in a dark brown wood-grain printed upper, the shoe evokes the appearance of carved timber while incorporating details that reference skate culture, including circular perforations at the ankle inspired by the drilled holes of a skateboard deck. Produced during the height of Nike SB’s first major wave of cultural influence, the 'Gardener Wood' stands as a particularly strong example of the moment when contemporary art, collectible character design, and sneaker culture converged into a single object category.

This example is further distinguished by the presence of its original wooden box and the original accompanying toy. Original sets are especially prized, as the project was conceived not simply as a footwear release but as a collectible presentation object, with packaging and accessories forming an essential part of the work’s identity.

Accompanied by original walnut wood box, vinyl toy, and mini accessories.
