The Lanvin Curb Eagle No. 221 is a one-of-one full-body eagle sculpture by Freehand Profit, built from a fully deconstructed pair of Lanvin Curb sneakers and rebuilt into a falcon mounted mid-flight with wings fully outstretched. The bird strikes a raptor's descent pose with talons extended forward in cast silver, head lowered toward the prey, wings held wide in a span that carries the piece well beyond the footprint of its base.

Each wing is layered from dozens of individually cut leather feathers to form the plumage picked out in Lanvin's pale sage and cream palette. The body carries the Lanvin Curb's leather and mesh sneaker panels as breast and back plating, joined by visible stitchwork that reads as ornithological anatomy rather than reassembled shoe. The sculpture rises off a slim polished metal stand rooted into a concrete display bowl finished with a woven silver base band, planted with live succulents and pebbles as a fully integrated presentation piece.

Gary Lockwood, known as Freehand Profit, is a Virginia-based artist whose practice transforms iconic sneakers into one-of-one sculptural masks. Since 2010, he has produced more than 200 unique works, each examining the intersection of identity, consumer culture, and contemporary symbolism through the language of footwear. By recontextualizing familiar materials into meticulously constructed objects, Freehand Profit elevates the everyday into something collectible—where craft, concept, and cultural reference converge.
