Etsu Egami (b. 1994, Tokyo, Japan) is part of a younger generation of Japanese contemporary artists working across Japan, China, the United States, and Europe. She studied at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design in Germany and the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, and has gained international recognition, including being named to Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30 and participating in the VOCA Exhibition in Tokyo.

Shaped by a transnational upbringing and now living between Japan and China, Egami’s practice centers on language, perception, and the nature of communication, which she approaches as something intuitive rather than fixed. Working across painting, drawing, video, and sound, she explores human interaction and the subtleties of expression. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major public and private collections across Asia and beyond.

Signed 'Egami Etsu' (on the front); signed again 'Egami' (on the brim); dated '2026' (on the reverse).

A portion of the proceeds from this sale will go in support of Good Soil Foundation, Singapore.
