"TLC" Necklace

This gold-toned chain necklace was created for Olivia DeJonge in her portrayal of Priscilla Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis (2022). Its pendant bears the initials “TLC” which stands for “Tender Loving Care," the female counterpart to Elvis Presley's famed "TCB" "Taking Care of Business" motto. This logo was originally designed by Priscilla Presley and produced by Elvis's personal jeweler, Lowell Hayes, and features a lightning bolt, signifying "in a flash." While the TCB pendants were reserved for the men of Elvis' entourage, the "Memphis Mafia", the TLC versions were commissioned by Elvis as gifts for the most important women in his life, including family members and close friends. Recognized today as an intimate extension of Elvis' personal iconography, this piece stands as both a symbolic artifact of Elvis' world and a cinematic artifact from the meticulous costume design behind Elvis (2022).
