Concert Poster & Ticket Stub

An exceptionally rare original poster from the night Joy Division opened for Buzzcocks at the Edinburgh Odeon — one stop on the Buzzcocks' autumn 1979 tour, with Joy Division providing support across the run. Sold with the original ticket stub for Stalls B14: Joy Division's name, as the supporting act, does not appear on the stub, a small piece of evidence of how rapidly the band's status was about to change. Within the year Ian Curtis would be gone and the band that was second on the bill that night would be remembered as one of the most important British groups of the era.
