A tribute T-shirt celebrating Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren, made by John Dove and Molly White as part of the 1978 Rebel series at Kitsch-22, 22 Woodstock Street, London. The design carries the SEX shop signage rendered in its signature bright pink. By 1978 the two parties had known each other for several years: Westwood and McLaren had first visited Dove and White's studio at Villiers Road, NW10 in 1974, immediately after Malcolm's return from the New York Dolls' European tour, looking to stock the artists' Lips and Leopardskin Pin-ups designs at the new King's Road shop. No deal was struck — Dove and White wouldn't drop their own labels — but the relationship endured, and by the late 1970s Dove and White were among the earliest figures inside the wider London scene to celebrate the partnership in print.
