The Jacob & Co. Five Time Zone Watch is one of the most recognizable and influential timepieces of the early 2000s. This exceptionally rare 2005 example, from Pharrell's personal collection, represents the very beginning of that journey: it is stamped Edition 001, marking it as the first watch of its collection.

Pharrell's early adoption helped propel the model into global visibility, with Jacob often noting that Pharrell was instrumental in transforming the watch into a cultural phenomenon. What began as Jacob’s bold first step into watchmaking would evolve into a world-renowned horological practice, establishing him as one of the most inventive and influential watchmakers of his generation.

Cast in 18K white gold, the substantial 49mm case is adorned with an assortment of over 300 diamonds across the dial, bezel, and case — a lavish expression of Jacob’s shift from high jewelry into technically ambitious watchmaking. The multi-time zone layout, displaying New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Paris, showcases the exuberant, globe-spanning design that defined the model’s meteoric rise.

The watch retains its original turquoise Louisiana alligator strap, stamped “J&Co / Jacob & Co. / Louisiana Alligator Hand Made 22S JA082”, paired with a stainless steel Swiss-made buckle. The caseback is inscribed with the full iconography of the early Five Time Zone era: “LOS ANGELES / NEW YORK / TOKYO / PARIS / 30M/100FT / SWISS MADE / 750 / Water Resistant / Jacob & Co. FIVE TIME ZONES &JCo.”

Together, these elements underscore the significance of this early piece, not only as one of the very first Five Time Zone watches ever produced, but as a watch that captures a pivotal moment in both Jacob’s and Pharrell’s creative evolution.

A combination of groundbreaking design, early-edition rarity, and unmistakable cultural resonance, this Edition 001 Five Time Zone remains one of the most historically important examples of Jacob’s debut watchmaking era — bearing Pharrell’s stylistic imprint at the precise moment when jewelry, music, and horology converged to define a new visual language.
