These extraordinary earrings extend the world of Office Supplies — the visionary jewelry concept co-created by Virgil Abloh and Jacob & Co. that elevates a humble everyday object into a lavish fine jewelry form. Similarly to Pharrell’s exploration of transforming everyday objects into wearable works of art, Office Supplies reimagines the paper clip, a symbol of utilitarian function and youthful creativity, as a diamond-studded statement rendered in precious metal.
Virgil described the project as “a concept for fine jewelry… it’s all cryptic & metaphoric but that’s as much of the concept as the adolescent idea of making a paper clip bracelet in grade school meets the blinding aspirational quality of a Rocafella chain… it’s my whole art practice in one object.” His fascination with elevating the mundane is distilled here with clarity and intention.
Crafted in white gold (a combination of 14K and 18K) and pavé-set with 2.84 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds (1,026 stones, F–G color, VS clarity), these earrings transform the familiar silhouette of linked paper clips into refined emblems of contemporary design and artisanal excellence. Weighing 8.2 grams, their scale and shimmering pavé surfaces reflect Jacob & Co.’s technical mastery, while the conceptual audacity — turning something as simple as a paper clip into high jewelry — embodies Virgil’s creative philosophy.
Part sculpture, part wearable art, and deeply rooted in the dialogue between utility and luxury, these earrings stand at the intersection of fashion, culture, and craftsmanship — a striking testament to the ingenuity and collaborative spirit of their creators.
