For Pharrell, even the most ordinary objects were invitations for reinvention. As Jacob recalls, he would often arrive with everyday items in hand — a BlackBerry, Oakley sunglasses, a G-Shock watch — and challenge him to transform these humble objects into fully functional sculptures in gold and diamonds. The result was a series of pieces that fused uncompromising craftsmanship with Pharrell’s singular imagination, where utility and luxury held equal weight.

This diamond carabiner key ring is among the most iconic examples of that creative exchange. As Jacob remembered: “He would bring this metal thing and say, can you make this in real diamonds, and have it actually work, and carry keys? And my job was to make it happen — figure out how I put the spring inside so it works, and opens, and doesn’t break. Ingenuity.”

Meticulously engineered in 18K rose gold and fully pavé-set with 17.84 carats of white brilliant-cut diamonds (1,452 stones, F–G color, VS clarity), the piece retains the full functionality of a working carabiner — an exceptional technical feat given its complexity and weight (79.1 grams). Rather than creating a static showpiece, Jacob devised a hidden, durable spring mechanism that allows the carabiner to open and close with precision, honoring Pharrell’s insistence that beauty must also perform.

Playful, extravagant, and expertly constructed, this diamond carabiner embodies the spirit of Pharrell and Jacob’s most celebrated collaborations — where imagination drives innovation, and luxury becomes a living, functional form.
