Produced in collaboration with Fragment in 2019, BUNNEY presents the Pikachu Coin Bank. Made from Sterling Silver, the Pikachu Coin Bank stands at 19cm tall and weighs an impressive 1.2kg. Unusual large and heavy silver Pokemon coin bank features a coin slot at back of head and functioning coin door in base. ‘Pikachu’ depicted in seated position with Thunderbolt motif on front. Comes inside large leather presentation trunk with lockable fastening. Made from 925 Sterling Silver and hallmarked 'Birmingham, England 2019' with hand-engraved and chased details.

We look to evermore increase the selection of unusual articles at Bunney; especially with regards to gifting, which we believe to be one of the most important aspects in working with precious metals. The prestige of rites of passage and special occasions have long been emphasised through the fine art of gifting. Important events in life like birth, marriage and coming of age events are given extra emphasis with carefully considered gifts. The tradition of gifting coin banks or money boxes to new born children was particularly popular in the Victorian era and in revisiting this tradition we hope to give this custom new life.

The Pokemon Coin Bank is the second in a series of large commercial sterling silver pieces produced by Bunney. Other collectable coin banks were the result of close work with Peanuts (a large seated Snoopy), and more recently A large rabbit. Each coin bank is handcrafted in the Birmingham and London workshops, with details added by a chaser and hand engraver, then finished with a polish, before being hallmarked at the Assay Office.
