Magic Johnson launched his own apparel line — Magic Johnson T's — in the early 1990s as one of the first NBA player-owned merchandise programs, and the brand quickly became one of the most identifiable producers of all-over-print sports tees during the height of the format's cultural moment. This Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan piece runs the AOP language at full pitch. The front centers a scaled-up photograph of Jordan in the red road Bulls uniform, mid-drive with the ball, printed against a lavender speckle-paint background with orange lightning bolts, swirling scratch-lines, and hand-drawn typography noting "Athletic Quickness — the ability to jump consecutively as quickly as possible" running across the composition.
"CHICAGO BULLS" appears in embossed red block letters at the shoulder and repeats down the right sleeve, with a Bulls mascot logo tucked into the corner. AOP tees from the Magic Johnson T's era of NBA merchandise sit at the top of vintage 1990s licensed apparel collecting — the pieces read equally as basketball fan artifact, hip-hop-era streetwear, and design objects that essentially built the visual vocabulary for how a generation would remember early-decade NBA merch.
