The Bulls traded for Dennis Rodman in October 1995, and Chicago — the franchise, the city, and the NBA fanbase — braced for what everyone assumed would be a season-long implosion. Rodman had come out of the Detroit Pistons' "Bad Boys" era as one of the league's most physically dominant rebounders and one of its most publicly volatile figures, spent a middling stretch in San Antonio that had ended in mutual frustration, and arrived at Chicago's doorstep with green hair, seven consecutive rebounding titles, and a reputation for turning locker rooms into war zones. Phil Jackson pulled him in anyway. What followed was arguably the most improbable second act in NBA history: three championships in three years, an eighth straight rebounding title added to his record, and a Chicago tenure that redefined what a supporting player could mean to a franchise.
This Pro Player tee is a document of that moment. The front layers a full-length action photograph of Rodman in the red road Bulls jersey — mid-dribble, red hair, tattoos exposed — over a monochrome map of Illinois with Chicago marked in red, the Bulls mascot logo set at the intersection of the state graphic and the player, and "RODMAN" running across the bottom in three-dimensional red block letters.
