The Nike x Off-White Air Jordan 1 High “Chicago” from The Ten stands as one of the defining sneakers of the 21st century, a landmark collaboration that crystallized Virgil Abloh’s disruptive design language and reshaped the relationship between luxury fashion and sneaker culture. Reworking one of Nike’s most iconic silhouettes through exposed construction, quotation-mark branding, and industrial detailing, Abloh transformed the Air Jordan 1 into both a design object and a cultural statement.
Executed in the classic Chicago palette of red, white, black, and sail, the pair preserves the historical weight of the original 1985 model while introducing the deconstructed visual codes that made The Ten so influential. Exposed foam, visible stitching, the oversized Swoosh, zip tie, and printed text elements all reflect Abloh’s method of making the familiar feel provisional, analytical, and newly charged. Few contemporary sneakers have had a comparable impact on collecting, design, and the secondary market.
This example is made especially significant by multiple inscriptions from Virgil Abloh: “c. 2017” inscribed on the inner side of the right shoe; “VIRGIL” inscribed on the inner side of the left shoe toward the heel; and “OFF-WHITE” inscribed on the inner side of the left shoe toward the front. Personally inscribed pairs from Abloh occupy a distinct category within modern sneaker collecting, offering a direct and tangible link to one of the most important creative figures of his generation.
Accompanied by green and orange OFF-WHITE "SHOELACES" laces, Nike x OFF-WHITE "Milan, Italy" black apron, and original box in excellent condition. Accompanied with JSA certification for the signature and inscription.
